Preflop: Hero is CO with J A
MP raises to $0.08, Hero raises to $0.18, 3 folds, MP calls $0.10

Flop: ($0.39) 9 T 3 (2 players)
MP checks, Hero bets $0.18, MP calls $0.18

Turn: ($0.75) J (2 players)
MP checks, Hero bets $0.52, MP calls $0.52
I improve on the turn but that completes all st draws. Bet folding was an option.

River: ($1.79) Q (2 players)
MP bets $0.57 and is all-in, Hero folds

I think I am pretty much dead here.
I always seem to get caught in these spots.

Hi Seran,

Preflop: What do we know about the opponent? I recommend that you start posting more information about opponents because the more information we have the better decisions we can make.

Assuming he is unknown we can assume he is fishy based on the stack size. Thus our 3-bet here is to isolate him for ourselves and get thin value from his calling range.

Is your 3-bet size always this small or is it because villain is shorter? We are barely making it bigger than 2x here.

IP I usually make 24c here.

As played, the turn does not complete all the straight draws. Only 78 (OESD on floP) and KQ (gutshot on floP) get there. QJ (oesd on floP) gets a pair+draw on the turn.
