Been a while since I've played for real money, but won a few $ in a freeroll I was playing when bored the other day, so decided to give $0.50 SnGs a go this time and see how I fare in them compared to cash games.

Hero (SB): t1500 50 BBs
BB: t1500 50 BBs
UTG: t1500 50 BBs
UTG+1: t1500 50 BBs
UTG+2: t1500 50 BBs
MP1: t1500 50 BBs
MP2: t1500 50 BBs
CO: t1500 50 BBs
BTN: t1500 50 BBs

Pre Flop: (t45) Hero is SB with J♥ A♥
1 fold, UTG+1 calls t30, 5 folds, Hero raises to t120, 1 fold, UTG+1 calls t90

Flop: (t270) 7♥ Q♥ 9♣ (2 players)
Hero bets t180, UTG+1 raises to t360, Hero calls t180

Turn: (t990) 4♥ (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG+1 bets t270, Hero raises to t1020 all in, UTG+1 calls t750 all in

River: (t3030) K♥ (2 players - 2 are all in)

My thoughts:
Preflop - Raise of 3xBB + 1xBB for limper
Flop - Think I might the right choice cbetting here vs 1 opponent even if I missed the board, he min raises, I figured calling another 180 chips was okay here because I'd already invested 300 in the hand and an A or heart would put me in a good spot to extract some value.
Turn - Anything other than a heart or A would be C/F, obviously I'm delighted to see a heart, and since villain was aggressive on the flop I decide to check-raise.

Thoughts? I'm particularly unsure about my flop play. Would it have been better to cbet/fold or even just check?

Hello Royaltramp,

Preflop:

We can also just call because we don't want to play out of position post flop in a big pot. Our hand is also good enough to raise.

Flop:

Wp. Often villain got very strong hand here and we don't have fold equity. Call to the min raise is fine.

Turn:

As played check/push is fine. Often villain got two pairs or a set here and if we call and bad card comes on the river we may not get value from villain.

Guys if you have any questions, do not hesitate to write in this thread by clicking the button or

Antoan
