Villian is a whale 85/27 after 50 hands, but at the time the hand played out I did not have any solid reads on him else that he is a fish. Is this a better turn to barrel or to check behind? and play bluffcatcher.

I would bet a little less on the flop, say $2. Definitely check back the turn and snap call the river like you did.

Typically if villain had a nut flush draw, he would checkraise this flop since he has top pair as well and our half pot bet would look weak. So I generally rule out villain having the nuts here which means his river bet is heavily weighted towards being a bluff which makes the call a lot easier.

Hope this helps. :f_biggrin:
