Played this hand on stars the other day, don't know if I shouldve 3bet the turn or not. I dont know that much about fi, not overly aggressive atleast but fairly loose pf ~35/22/0.98af over 350 hands.

Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

CO: $9.84
BTN: $33.61
Hero (SB): $32.66
BB: $22.90
UTG: $91.76

Pre Flop: ($0.75) Hero has K♣ Q♣

Hero bets $1.00, CO raises to $2.00, Hero calls $1.00

River: ($8.50, 2 players) 3♠

Vs his value range you are not ahead on the turn

Board: 8♠K♦6♦ 3♣
       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2    48.44%  42.99%   5.46% { KcQc }
CO     51.56%  46.10%   5.46% { KK+, 88, 66, 33, AKs, K8s+, AKo, K9o+ }

So really what you're looking to do is 3-bet vs his perceived bluffing range and hope he catches up on the river which is a little risky, some other players may have a wider turn raising range here but this guy seems pretty passive so i highly doubt he's got a well balanced turn raising range (i.e. enough bluffs to cover his value range) although 350 hands isn't conclusive

I think you played the hand fine tbh, AK is a lot closer to a 3-bet.

Hey boomer if u think vs his value range we are not ahead on the turn then why should we 3 bet with AK

isnt if KQ on this brd is behind then AK also doesnt have much 3 bet value either

the only hand i can think of in villian range for the reason we should 3 bet with AK & not KQ is putting him on KQ

please correct me if i am wrong

Board: 8♠K♦6♦ 3♣
       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2    63.52%  57.74%   5.77% { AcKc }
MP3    36.48%  30.71%   5.77% { KK+, 88, 66, 33, AKs, K8s+, AKo, K9o+ }

It actually changes a lot since we now beat KQ as well and chop with AK which is a lot of combinations compared to his sets and pairs of Aces.

In fact it's pretty clear with AK we should be 3-betting there vs a decent value-range
