I think this is clearly an overplay. Raising KQ on a 3straight board is not a good idea. You should recognize that your hand is a medium strength hand on this board, as opposed to a Q22 board where your hand would be leaning towards the stronger side.

He can have T9 T8s QTs JTs AsTs and so many combodraws or pair+draw type of hands. Vs that range, we cannot raise for value, much less getting it in vs a donk/3bet line.

You would have saved yourself a lot of money if you juts kept calling down on blank runouts.

yes, shoving against his 3bet is a mistake
but what do you think about a raise on the flop to protect against draws, and fold to his 3bet ?

BTW the range you gave him is way too simplified. You should give him many more flush draws and combodraws and some pair + draws. But still, the end result would be that you never have more than 40% equity here,.

About whether to raise or call:
Medium strength hand = Call
Strong hand = raise for value
Weak hand = bluff raise or fold

It's as simple as that. Raising for protection with medium strength hands is just not a sensible play at all. If the runout on the board is bad, we can just fold. Why put in more money to find out that you are beat, when you can just call and decide on a later street (and be one street closer to showdown) whether you are still good or not?

i think there is a button somewhere to reopen the thread when you have a follow-up question, so that when the hand judges open the hand evaluation forums there will be an ! somewhere and it's clearer. Try to use this function so that we are less likely to miss out on replying to your posts.
