Notes:
3bets 99 CO/BTN vs MP

Preflop: I think we can't go wrong by either calling or 4betting with the intention of calling it off here. The guy is obv not folding a lot to 4bets, and has proved himself capable of 3betting 99 (probably, but def not for sure, means he is 3betting sPPs as well) on two occasions before this hand against me so I guess we should be in decent shape against a 5bet jamming range here. I elected to call though.

Flop: Standard

Turn: Villains turnbarrel stats are def on the more higher side (but by no means very high) so I would assume he barrels this card a lot, esp if he thinks I float the flop a lot (which I would assume) ,making it a mandatory call.

River: I guess his valuerange here something like TT+, any queen or better. Not sure if he would 3bet hands like AQ, KQ, QJ etc preflop when the fish (44/x) limps pre, so I guess we can remove a few combos of queens from his range. But then on the other hand I don't really know much about his 3betting range here at all. My guess would be though that most regs 3bets the bottom of the range of hands that are too weak to call with preflop, so maybe som SC, Axs etc...

So fold/call? If you are folding 88 here, what is the bottom of your calling range?

Hey,

I'm not a big fan of preflop, I would just fold. I realize that he's probably pretty out of line here 3betting your isolation raise, but I would combat it by 4betting lighter, not by calling 88. I just don't see how it's profitable, unless we flop a set we're going to be very hard pressed on pretty much any board.

Anyways, as played flop and turn seem pretty standard-ish I guess. Vs some ppl we can fold turn as they would never barrel as a bluff, but I guess that does not hold true for this guy, so calling turn seems alright.

On the river I would fold though. The bottom of my calling range would be TT. I would imagine he is somewhat balanced on the river (prob shoving TT+/most bluffs he gets to the river with), so I think calling TT+ (or JJ+) and folding 88 seems fine.

What is the difference between 88 and TT ifs?

And do you guys see any weakness in his sizing? His turnsizing looks rly weak to me..

It's not an enormous difference, but there is a small one, namely that we beat 99-TT which will probably play like that at least a small % of the time. Other than that it just gives a way to organize so that we call roughly how much we want to call in this spot.

Cool I got it :)

What about sizing? I would be more inclined to herocall here... It's like he sizes turn small to get enough FE on a good river to shove like Qx

That's possible, it's also possible he just standardizes his betsizing and we're reading too much into it. So if I don't have a clear thought on which I think is the most likely I tend to just try and not read too much into it.
