Flop: (2 SB) 5, 8, 9 (2 players)
SB bets, Hero calls.

Turn: (2 BB) 5 (2 players)
SB bets, Hero calls.

River: (4 BB) 4 (2 players)
SB bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 6 BB

I think I raise this preflop.

Usually this is a call flop raise turn for me, but I like the calldown after the 3rd comes.

Hate those hands aswell, that's why it's better to raise preflop ;)

yes raising this preflop is possible but checking and betting any flop is fine as well because you don't have much showdownvalue and the fold equity is nearly the same. (I doubt that he will ever fold preflop directly.)
