was this a mistake? he had just won a big pot the hand before however the raise was bigger than his usual so perhaps i should have taken that to mean he had a bigger hand, but i thought perhaps because of his big win the hand before.

I don't think you've got much FE here and I fold and wait for a better hand or open shove myself.

thanks!. I think I need to look into push/fold game when someone has already raised. Is it best to use holdem resources calculator to study this?

Cool, yeh I will try it. It's possible to manipulate holdem resources calculator to do this aswell though isn't it?. Also, I was thinking about stealing ranges in SB vs BB when BB is fishy aggressive and 3betting, shoving nearly every steal and also vs a tight reg who's folding and 3betting very little.
