Pokerblog Barlin63
After I watched the "Champions Stand Up One More Time Than The Rest - Part 1" video from Raskolnikov I decided to give it a shot. Not that I don't study, read books and analyze my game but because I want to move to the next level. I played a lot of tournaments and switched recently from 45SNG and Free rolls to cash games. Almost two years ago I started with a few dollars to play with and managed to extend my bank roll to give or take $300. I got the most value from $100 MTT free rolls from PS (thank you for that) with several top 10 and top 5 results. For the cash games I realized a profit of $20 but I am on a down swing lately (-$10, 5BI).
What I have done so far to get to the level I am right now:
- Watched numerous video's from Pokerstars as well as Poker Strategy (>300)
- Read several books about the game: Harrington (3X Tournaments, 1X on-line Cash Games), Collin Moshman (SNG) and several other books
- Played almost every day tournaments and lately also micro cash games (0,01/0,02 FR)
So far so good and given the fact that I already invested much time and believe that I have the analytical skills to beat the micro's I start this blog to share my goals and progress. Every week I will update the blog and show what I have done to achieve my goals. Out of the cash hands played (VPIP/PFR/3Bet 16.8%/11.9%,3.3%) I have determined a few areas for improvement:
- Lack of volume (4 tables max two hours +/- 500 hands)
- Aggressiveness post-flop (Fold to F Cbet, Fold to F bet: 66.8%, 70.7%)
- Hand analysis
First of all foremost important goal is to achieve the gold status so that I can watch the other video's in the Raskolnikov's series. I truly understand PS reasons to make this series gold and I hope that, despite will not watch the rest this month and started only in April, Raskolnikov will stand his promise for support :-).
Bank roll management
To reach my goals I will use a strict Bank Roll management of 30 Bi. That means that I will start with a bank roll of $60 (out of previous winnings) and that I will move to the next level once I reach $120. Somewhere around 25Bi I will start occasionally to play some higher limit tables to get use to that limit. When I face down swings I will move back to the previous level when I am below 25 Bi. Please feel free to comment on my Bank roll system.
Goals for next three months:
- Achieve the gold stats (eventually I will buy the points if I am not able to collect 500 points a month)
- Play at least 5 days a week for 2 hours
- Increase the number of hands played (more tables or rush) to >750 per session
- Study at least one hour a day (watch movies, read books and analyze games previous day
- Post at least 2 hands per session (so at least 10 a week) in more detailed way as suggested by Raskolnikov
- Double my bankroll to $120 so I can move to the next level
As per tomorrow April 2, I will start the challenge and every Sunday I will report about the progress. I am motivated and will thankfully use the material available for me. I thank and applaud the coaches for what they have contributed and hope they will support me in my challenge by analyzing my hands and keep making new videos.
