Hello everyone, just had an interesting hand, which I would like to comment on how I played it and to receive replies on how would you suggest to play it. So:
Full Tilt Poker, $10 + $1 NL Hold'em Sit n' Go, 20/40 Blinds, 8 Players
LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter
UTG+1: 1,680
MP1: 1,575
MP2: 1,380
CO: 1,470
BTN: 1,745
SB: 2,650
Hero (BB): 1,500
UTG: 1,500
Pre-Flop: (60) Q♦ 3♦ dealt to Hero (BB)
3 folds, MP2 calls 40, CO folds, BTN calls 40, SB calls 20, Hero checks
Flop: (160) 8♣ 8♦ J♦ (4 Players)
SB checks, Hero bets 80, MP2 calls 80, BTN calls 80, SB folds
4 players see the flop, I am in BB and I flop a flush draw. SB checks, I bet half the pot to see where I'm at. Two players call me.
Turn: (400) Q♣ (3 Players)
Hero checks, MP2 bets 400, BTN folds
Turn brings me top pair, but not the flush. I check, now first caller bets pot, dealer folds, action to me. What do I do? What could MP2 have: I doubt he has an eight also I don't think he has a queen. He could have a jack, he could have 9t and now bet pot in case he's scared of me flush drawing, also, he could have a lower pocket pair, which I can beat. He could also be floating me.
Now what do I do? he could put me under a flush draw, under trip eights, maybe a made and checked straight? No way he thinks I have a queen. I decide to shove - if he has the straight, I have a few more outs, else he will probably fold. Even though it is still very early in the tournament, I think I get good value since the pot is juicy already.
Outcome:
Hero raises to 1,380 and is All-In, MP2 calls 860 and is All-In
River: (2,920) 8♥ (2 Players - 1 is All-In)
Results: 2,920 Pot
MP2 showed 9♠ J♣ (a full house, Eights full of Jacks) and LOST (-1,380 NET)
Hero showed Q♦ 3♦ (a full house, Eights full of Queens) and WON 2,920 (+1,540 NET)
Looking forward to your insights.
