The villain had a 4/8 steal stat from the SB so I raised to steal back. I was surprised when he called.
I checked the flop as I thought he'd likely only call if I was beat...I only have middle pair....
Now the 10 on the turn. He bet... 2/3 of the pot...it looked like a protection bet so I didn't think he was on a draw. He hadn't bet the flop so I thought he might be trying to steal. I had a pair and a gut shot so I called. Which at the time I actually thought I probably shouldn't EV wise. Should I have folded here.
On the river, the 10 hits. He checked. I really didn't think he was on a draw. I thought he might have AJ, or some sort of Jx...possibly J9 or J8 which are both very bad. I quickly decided he like had a jack of some kind and would call with one pair or fold if he'd missed a draw...with the possibility of a straight out there he might fold a two pair hand...
So I bet half the pot.
Should I have folded on the turn? And just checked the river?
