Is my hand a decent 3b vs a likely fish (given stack) making a small open raise? Or is there perhaps not enough playability.

BB is unk.

Postflop seems standard. I don't think we can do much other than ship vs his big turn lead. I guess 45xx is possible but I doubt he bets quite so much with the nuts, esp when I'm betting into 2 ppl and likely have a hand so I will often barrel. JJxx is also possible though in general I don't know if many coldcall such hands oop vs a 3b. (?) Also I expect him to ch/R flop with top set given draws and mwp.

Now, with particular reference to the hand BB shows up with, do you agree that his preflop call is very speculative indeed? If he knew I had AAxx always, what would you think?

thx

I don't think it's ok to 3bet with that hand... If you don't hit the 7 on the flop or the FD you don't have much where to improve...

Ok... I think I agree, although I assume my hand strength will be less important vs a fish, with postion.

I think that against a fish your hand strenght is more important...

Cause your bluffs will be less sucessful and a lot of the time you will need a hand with SD value to win the pot...

Yea very clear call preflop.

Given that the hand will play out very differently. As played everything is ofc standard.

I don't like the 3 bet preflop, as you said against fish you're often going to showdown and AK77 doesn't have many ways to make 2 pair or better, something that is strong enough to go all in with.

You should call, and encourage the blinds to overcall and get your value from the flush draw.
