I'm doing this evaluation for homework purposes of my NL beginners course.

Preflop: I would fold this hand preflop as limping is a weak play and you will often be raised by better players. If you call that raise you will often be dominated or will have to play a hand out of position which is usually -EV. It is possible to raise this hand preflop from UTG+1 but it would be considered a very loose play and therefore not for beginners.

Flop: You do not have enough odds / implied odds to call the flop. You have only 3 clean outs (Q♥, Q♣, Q♦) which requires you to have at least 7 : 1 pot odds. You are getting only 2.33 : 1 odds. You would need extra $0.28 if you hit which would be hard to get due to the fact that it is unraised pot. You may also be in a marginal spot if Q♠ comes on a later street.

Turn: same reasoning as before though here you would need even more implied odds. I think it is -EV to call and the best action would be to fold.

River: by overbetting the river you open yourself to losses in the long run as players in NL2 like to bluffcatch. I think in the long term it is a -EV move.

Hi Sarkov,

Preflop: I would not recommend open limping such hands. If you want to play this hand as the first guy in you should always raise it.

Postflop: As played we should just fold the flop.

I think that overall it will not be very +Ev to play the hand like this, especially the preflop limp.

With pairs and suited aces sure. But with offsuite aces you generally don't want to limp but rather try to raise and isolate. Offsuite aces don't play great in limped/multiway pots.
