SB posts SB 0.5 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has 8♠ 8♦

fold, fold, fold, fold, MP+1 raises to 4 BB, fold, BTN calls 4 BB, fold, Hero calls 3 BB

Flop: (12.5 BB, 3 players) 5♦ 4♠ J♥
Hero checks, MP+1 checks, BTN bets 7 BB, fold, fold

BTN wins 12 BB

MP checks. His stats are incredibly tight only 5%pfr over 461 hands so I'm almost assuming he has an overpair.

The button player is actually loose, so I actually considered calling but thought with the MP still to bet I was likely beat. I'm assuming folding is best here.

Let's say MP isn't there and it's just that looser player on the button. Would a call be a good play? I checked and I have 56% equity against his range.

The only problem is if he double barrels I can only really call with if an 8 hits hits the board...or an undercard I guess. I just think that either that button player has Jx or he's bluffing. I don't see the 5 or 4 connecting with his range.

Hi Edukator,

Preflop: looks fine

Postflop: When MP checks he rarely has something. Most likely AK/AQ that doesn't hit.

However, the BTN player isn't that loose at just 15/6. His range is also on the stronger side and I'd just fold as well.
