Just want a line check on this one, especially sizing on flop and turn. The effective stack was an awkward size on turn, so I reckon there was a mistake with sizing on the flop (I've become so used to sizing for 100bb stacks!). If the flop bet is say $0.55 it sets us up for an easy shove on turn? (unless diamond hits)

I was thinking he either has a smaller set or flush draw (88 and JJ definitely in his range). As far as I'm concerned, once I bet the turn I'm committed unless there's a diamond on the river...

Villain was 15/10 after 98 hands, but very passive post-flop - AF=0.3, Agg Freq=9%, FCB=40%

This flop and turn is very bad for our hand, we have top set which means they can't have top pair and they have a weak draw or pair plus draw or better which has good equity against us and likely to call big bets so I would pot flop and jam river, I prefer bigger bet sizes to get it in as soon as possible before it gets even uglier.

Thanks, that's exactly what I was thinking while reviewing the hand.

Would you say a 0.55-0.60 flop bet might be a good size to set up a shove for turn if diamond doesn't hit?

I would bet as big as he is wwilling to call, maybe even up to pot size, we want immediate value and I think on this board he's calling many hands and calling large bets too
