hey

I think I'd make a tight fold pre here. 3bet would be overplaying our hand pretty much, we only isolate ourself against stronger range and make fold worse. so it's between calling and folding. I don't like calling, this 3x with these stack sizes is usually a strong hand, 88-QQ,AQ,AK, so we are crushed by his range. We don't even have 20bbs and with this 3bb openraise the spr just gets worse on the flop, we'll have no info and have to make a stack decision usually on the flop.

So since I don't really like this scenario, I'd fold. Even if we are wrong about his range, I'd rather pass up on a small +EV situation (his range is wide and he's just a manciac fish) than making a bigger -EV situation (his range is the mentioned 88-QQ,AQ,AK). We still have pretty good stack to continue with and if it would be a huge +EV situation, you wouldnt have posted it :P.

Players tend to play tigh, so even though he raised 3x he would fold AJ, definitely AT and maybe AQ
You have strong hand and doing fine against TT/JJ.
I would prefer shoving if you expect to have any fold equity.

best regards,

Hi all,

Without reads I assume 2x = weak, 3x = strong from a recreational player. With that in mind, I fold.
