Dear evaluator,

how do you handle the frustration from such hand?

Hello,

What strategy are you playing with? Since according to BSS you should be having at least 100bb before the beginning of every hand.

Preflop calling against the 3bet is fine.

When he checks the flop I would just bet for value here and plan to shove the turn.

As played, shoving the turn is fine.

Best,
Plamen

Hi Plamen,

in fact I'm learning and in order to limit my losses I didn't rebuy.
Might not be ideal strategy but it allows me to try different situations - in thi sparticular case it saved me some money :-)
I know that post flop having monster it was played the best possible way.
Problem is this bad beat made me unhappy and I lost concentration and quit session.
How do you handle such bad beats ?

Thanks

Hey,

I would first advice you to top up your stack to 100bb before the beginning of every hand. This way you are going to be able to extract maximum value from your hands. Even in this particular hand you are losing money in the long term when you don't rebuy.
Also, when you play with 50bb stack the game is much different from 100bb stacks, so you are making yourself learning multiple things which when you are a beginner can be extremely tough and I would suggest you not to.

Also, I do want to congratulate you that you ended up your session when you got tilted - this is much better decision than spewing your stacks away because you got bad beat, so this is a mark that you are going into the right way.
Of course, if you want to take up poker more seriously you can't really end up your session every time when someone sucks out on you, so you will have to work on this.
Of course, this isn't easy and is probably one of the slowest processes which you can face, but if you are able to go through this you will be fine.
At first, you should probably realize that this is a part of the game and it is going to happen quite often, sometimes even more than usual, but this shouldn't be really affecting your game. In the first few months you can take short brakes after doing this and try doing something that does not involve thinking - you can make some push ups, play with your pets, or go make something for yourself to eat. This should last around 10-15 mins and then you can go back.

Also, I do recommend you to read some articles/books or watch videos about mindset as they are likely to help you a lot.
