villain was a supernova so sort of expecting him to be quite solid but we are both unknowns to each other so i have no other info other than his shiny red stars. just curious what you make of his play...

preflop is obv really loose but playing zoom where people autofold it could be alright... just seems a little trashy. i sometimes open hands like 87s in MP but i dont really like the idea of SGs this low.

on the flop he hits bottom pair which is hardly great but he also has a FD to go along with it. the problem i have here is that i'm unknown - he has no information to say that im ever FOS for raising here and in general i would be giving a ton of credit to an unknown who flats pre and raises on this flop texture. just gunna be a set way too often.. and we are 120bb deep.

so anyway, given his pot odds once i ship it in he needs 31.4% equity for this to be break even but in this particular spot he has only 31.33%

Board: J♥7♥6♠
       Equity     Win     Tie
MP3    31.33%  31.33%   0.00% { 8h6h }
CO     68.67%  68.67%   0.00% { 7d7s }

im just curious to see a second opinion about this hand because... he has bottom pair + FD, i pretty much always have a set here, and he is breaking even at best and that isnt even accounting for rake.

also if i give myself a range here his equtiy only increases ~1% against JJ,77-66,Th9h,9h8h. don't really think im stacking off with worse here.

so can he fold this hand or is it played okay? seems so borderline but because it is borderline does that not favour a fold? i sometimes get myself into these situations where i feel spewy for stacking off but weak for folding.

Hi Lewis,

Preflop: looks fine

Postflop: Our line is clearly fine although I think we can raise bigger to begin with.

He should at most call the flop with such a hand unless there is some history of light raising from you, but at 10nl that's spew anyway.

I'm assuming you called because he may have thought he induced with his min 3-bet and that he's ahead of other draws with his pair.
