I don't get what you are doing.. cna you try to explain please?

On the flop I cbet for value.

On the turn I considered barrelling again, but I didnt want to bet/fold, cause he calls/raises everything that beats me, but could fold others that I beat. So I rather checked to make him float hands like AJ/A:hX, maybe even makes the mistake and bets hands like JT/99. Although chRAI could be an overplay, cause the Q could hit his floating range (QJ/QT f.e.).

So it turns out that I probably dont really get either what I am doing...

You not knowing what you are doing is bad but that's why you post here, to learn.

I can agree with the thinking that a) your hand is not strong enough to vbet anymore and b) he has some floats that bet the turn but I disagree that this makes your option to check/shove. If you check with the intention to induce a bluff, you are usually better off calling, albeit not always. Furthermore, your main problem here is his range for calling off has you utterly crushed.. Flushes, sets, 2pair, top pairs, probably J9s for a straight as well.

I think calling the turn is the better option. You get good enough odds to bluffcatch vs his range consisting of floats and the made hands previously mentioned. It is a tough spot, especially on the river, but it always will be, plus it's higher EV than to ship it in so you don't have to fold later. Seems more like a spot where you think you have like 40% ish vs his range and just said, screw it, ALL IN!

Yeah, sounds like my "thought process" here... ♦

It was a strange hand, cause during play he showed A:hJ:c, and I was happy about the hand, but as I reviewed it later, I started to have bad feelings about it... Actually I was really lucky to run into the very bottom of his range.

So yeah, thanks, ch/calling would have been a play of much higher EV considering his whole range.
