at the time UTG seamed like a reg, he had ~ 22% open 1st from utg, his current stats are 28/19 and 26% open 1st from utg, but since he opened to 3x i really thought it was hand that needs protection so like 77-JJ, AT+,KQ and against that range i thought i shouldnt be shoving my 66 with no fold equity, was i wrong?? we were down to final 4 tables and i thought it would just be a gamble that i didnt feel like taking, would have shoved vs 2x open though..

Hi,

Since you have less than 10bb I would shove for value. 66 has quite a lot showdown value even unimproved and although UTG+1 would likely not folding, he has in his range AK-AJ and sometimes worse hands that 66 is doing fine.

best regards,

Hi all,

I think you should fold vs a 2x and a 3x open. Even with 9bb getting it in here with pretty bad equity against a range that isn't too wide is not great. I don't think you have fold equity vs a reg with 9bb.

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 49.615% 49.14% 00.48% 1448796600 14133630.00 { 22+, A2s+, KTs+, Q9s+, J9s+, T9s, A8o+, KJo+, QTo+, JTo }
Hand 1: 50.385% 49.91% 00.48% 1471523628 14133630.00 { 66 }

And that's if he's even opening any suited ace. Keep in mind that there are a lot of players behind you who are not going to make particularly tight folds vs your stacksize.

Get it in from any of the blinds though.

the problem imo here is that villain is 3x (assume for first time he was 2x before) into BB who is short so probably u have 0 fold eq but imo if his range is tightish like AJ+77+(maybe 22+) and he is calling off all of that if u shove imo shove should be profitable but def its ok to wait for better spot

@chenny what rabge u think is shove in this spot??

88+ AJ+ or thereabouts. We have to be sufficiently ahead against UTG's range to accommodate for the possibility of overcalls.
