Turn: ($9.50) 8♠ (3 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets, BTN calls, Hero raises, UTG calls, BTN calls

River: ($21.50) 9♦ (3 players)
Hero bets, UTG raises, BTN folds, Hero calls

wrong time to slowplay?

Dont slowplay multiway, definitely not OOP! Especially not on a board where there are some draws. This flop is perfect to raise, you could trap BU by raising this flop and getting the max value from his (most likely) overcards.

What if they checked behind on the turn? You would have lost tons of value.

that's it.

i check the river, to call for one bet. utg often holds the 9 and b/c is too expensive. button might even call so we don't need to be ahead against utg that often.
