Poker Stars, $0.08/$0.16 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players

SB: $16 (100 bb)
BB: $17.62 (110.1 bb)
UTG: $29.51 (184.4 bb) VPIP: 17, PFR: 14, 3B: 8, AF: 7,0, Hands: 214
MP: $17.70 (110.6 bb)
CO: $10.43 (65.2 bb) VPIP: 87, PFR: 0, 3B: 0, AF: 0,8, Hands: 31
Hero (BTN): $18.76 (117.3 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with J 7
UTG raises to $0.48, MP folds, CO calls $0.48, Hero calls $0.48, 2 folds

Flop: ($1.68) 4 J 8 (3 players)
UTG bets $1.12, CO folds, Hero calls $1.12

Turn: ($3.92) 5 (2 players)
UTG bets $2.40, Hero calls $2.40

River: ($8.72) 4 (2 players)
UTG bets $5, Hero folds

Preflop: Would you call such hand here? :f_biggrin: I think i overrated position in this situation a bit.

Flop: Standard.

Turn: We pick up nice equity. Gutter + FD. How would you play here? I'm not sure about calling, because we might throw in a small raise to put pressure on him. What do you think? If i raise and i miss the river - i might be able to take free showdown in some cases if he decides to call my raise.

River: Cant see worse hand than AJ in his holdings. Feels like QQ+

Hello,

I do understand that you want to play vs the fish, but you have to choose your hands more carefully - this hand for example has quite a low playability postflop and is very dominated.

I wouldn't really call calling the flop standard here. I really really doubt villain is going to bluff three-way here so the only worse hands that he's going to bet here are 99/TT.
In addition, we did call this preflop to play against the fish and once it's gone I would rather fold this here.

Raising the turn will be a decent option if we knew that villain is capable of folding.
Without information just calling and folding a blank river is good.

Best,
Plamen

Well, i think i might have tendency to overrate myself sometimes _rolleyes: Thats why i get in such situations.

What would be the worst hands which i might call IP in such situation? I mean gappers. Not good connectors :f_biggrin:

If i raise on turn really small, like 5.50$? Its okay??

Hi

Preflop: Marginal but fine since there's a fish in the hand.

Postflop: Looks fine to me. This is pretty much the weakest made hand you have on the river so folding is fine.

Thanks.
