Tight aggressive CO makes a steal and I decide to 3-bet for fold equity or to take pot down preflop. ok?

On the flop what considerations do I need to make when CO shoves? It looks suspiciously like a monster draw but could also be set, two pair or even an under-played QQ waiting for a safe flop. Is this a standard fold here with TPTK or too weak?

Hi K,

First of all, 3betting a tight opener is marginal in general. I think your hand selection is fine for 3betting as a bluff but then take that logic to postflop as well:
- you 3bet as a bluff and get called => your hand is not doing great.

When you flop TPTK with Jx it looks better than it is. It's a decent hand but don't forget who you are up against.

Your cbet size is just way too big in a 3bet pot. You can make it half that since stacks are shallow enough to get it in easily if needed. Given the board texture I would bet about 11bb, not 9.75 but you get the idea regarding leveraging stacks I hope.

I was not aware of the concept of leveraging stacks, but a quick google search has cleared that up. So basically I don't have to bet big to scare him off, the mere fact that I have the potential to bet much bigger on future streets due to my stack size will do this..

Yes. Bet sizing takes into account several things:
a) board texture
b) your opponent's range and how it interacts with that texture
c) SPR (stack to pot ratio, in other words, how much you have left in your stack compared to what's in the pot)

a) is quite commonly explained all the time. b) is harder to grasp, it's about using your hand reading ability to get the best EV out of your bets (big when he calls anything, bluff cheaply when possible and so forth).
