Lets say we have such spot:

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.10(BB) Replayer
Hero ($14.99)
BB ($11)
UTG ($12.51)
UTG+1 ($8.78)
CO ($9.39)
BTN ($4.85)

Dealt to Hero 8♥ A♥

fold, fold, CO raises to $0.20, fold, Hero raises to $0.80, fold, CO calls $0.60

CO if unknown, not fullstacked so fish/recreational.

A8s is too weak to fold so I isolate as default here.

I give him aproximate preflop calling range vs my 3bet:

22+, A2s+, K9s+, Q9s+, JTs, A8o+, KTo+, QTo+, JTo

I think this also should be about the same at non zoom.

what do you think - is this ok, or too loose? On average I mean.

It is important to assume correclty because based on it we do actions on flop.

Btw actually checked with equilab and my A8s only has 47% eq vs this range, so not so good spot, but assumeing he will have to fold a lot post flop, I think its good.

WE might think about that he has position so he can be wide but for the fish position does not matter that much, so even if we are BTN his range should be similar.

hey speed. i dont normally assume some sort of concrete range especially vs an unknown - they really can show up with a ton of unexpected stuff. if i had to say a range it would be something like this: JJ-22,AQs-A8s,K9s+,QTs+,JTs,T9s,98s,AQo-A8o,KJo+,QJo and i don't think the range you suggest is unreasonable but imo it's pretty impossible to put an unknown fishy-looking-guy on a range preflop. and i agree that their ranges probably won't change too much between zoom and regular tables...

i just start with the assumption that they are calling a bit wider than they should and leave it at that until i get more info, otherwise it's quite easy to start making unfounded decisions. also to consider is that since he has position, AND he's a fish it's probably gunna be quite hard to get as many folds as we might like.

Do regs often have not full stack?

Dont know how often exactly, but making so bad ''reads''will definitily cost you some money.

Bad reads obv may cost you money but if villain isn't full stacked its definitely safe to assume he's a fish or at least a very bad reg in +95% of cases
