I like your flop play. Against a full stack your turn bet is ok, but against MP's stack i would bet a bit less(~4.5-5$) since against him you wouldn't fold on any river card. If he's on a draw, he still doesn't have the right implied odds to call.
But most shortstacks in SH games are fish and call you down very light, so it's perfectly fine as played.

I wouldn't try to isolate an unknown short stack with 55, since they often shove on the flop with any pair, draw or even air. He is BU and even if someone from the blinds raises he has position on them, and good odds to call for set value. With the shortie in the hand(they almost always call) i'm pretty sure any raiser would refrain from contibetting unless he hit.

I would raise to 2.5$ on the flop, but that's just a minor error I think (if at all against this player).

On the turn you can bet less though: betting 4.5$ sets up a rivershove pretty perfectly. Not that it really matters all that much, because if he calls the turn he's probably going with it anyway.

can you explain to me further why the $2.5 bet would be better than $3. i think you mean that on nl25 it doesn't matter, but i'm interested in why it would matter at higher limits. Bet sizing is something that i think i need the most improvement on... thanks...

Well it's actually not a fault to raise to $3. You are usually looking for the potsize. A potsize raise, for maximum protection, in this situation would be $3.10 which is a lot. Just to let it look a bit weaker you can bet something between $2.50 and $3.
