Hi,
I plan on using this as a diary/hand evaluation poster for 45 man turbos.
I am currently at the $0.50 levels. I'm going through a terrible losing streak and I'm losing confidence and faith in what I thought was a solid game.
But IS it a solid game? I hope to use this thread to investigate this.
I'm going to go back to what seem like very basic hands, but I just want to make sure I'm understanding the fundamentals correctly. I think I may have been getting comfortable with too many marginal plays which I hope to gradually eliminate.
Might as well start with:
1)
UTG: t4299 28.66 BBs
UTG+1: t1200 8 BBs
MP1: t2555 17.03 BBs
MP2: t1800 12 BBs
CO: t2456 16.37 BBs
BTN: t2810 18.73 BBs
SB: t3015 20.10 BBs
Hero (BB): t1565 10.43 BBs
Pre Flop: (t225) Hero is BB with A
K ![]()
UTG raises to t375, 6 folds, Hero raises to t1565 all in, UTG calls t1190
Flop: (t3205) 2

Q

Turn: (t3205) 3
(2 players - 1 is all in)
River: (t3205) 8

--> To me, it seemed to be an obvious shove. I didn't know much about my opponent. These $0.50's and my losing streak have played with my head a bit, so sorry if this is obvious!

-->I like to play fairly tight at the beginning and wait for the maniacs to die (hopefully killed by me when I hit a big hand). I find they can sometimes be VERY defensive of their blinds... So my thinking here was to not mess around with my A6 because I didn't like the idea of someone coming over the top. I thought I'd be patient for the push/fold phase.
The information I had:
SB: tight (VPIP 10) [is it right to define tight in this way?]
BB: unknown
Was this incorrect?

-->I figured there was a good chance he was chasing a flush draw, but early on, I felt it was right to let the cards do the talking. Maybe I'm wrong?

ANY feedback on these hands would be greatly appreciated. I know they are probably very basic, but I want to start here and see where we can go...
