I have been playing the SSS consistently on NL10 at PokerStars for just over a week and was doing quite well with a $8 profit, but tonight i had a major downswing and after 3 hours of playing i was back down to just under a $1 profit.

My question is is this to be expected after such a short time playing SSS at NL10.

Regards,

Steve

7$ downswing???
You must be happy
Today i have one 16$ downswing
It is normal. I play 12 tables, but still SSS is full of ups and downs
Use to it...

Money it's not important that much
+EV and nothing else matters :)

Ahem, I would love to be in your place . Down to $16 right now... (Advice needed: Crushed on NL10, looking for alternatives)

thanks kukkiwonBG. Hopefully i can hit a big upswing soon then to even things up

I'm strictly playing according to the SSS SHC and apart from a few minor errors on my part, i have played according to how i should so im accepting that its part of the learning curve.

hi ya rowzee. Funnily enough i've just started to read your thread in the last 5 mins.

I know Titan isn't a very good place to place NL10 SSS as quite a few other people have stated the same reasons as yourself. I guess thats why its more lovingly known as Tightan

It will be ok...
After a big downswing it is a time for BIG upswing
hopefully
My last upswing on 10NL SSS was 31$ in 1.2k hands in one day.
Nice

Your sample must be at least 15-20k hands to know what is your win rate
Watch some videos, read and enjoy poker. Not to learn something that will boost your bankroll to 2 million dollars (why not?), but to play better poker.
When i'm looking the videos here i play some good poker for the reason that I stop playing stupid "moves" against the donks.

Thank you for your much appreciated help kukkiwonBG.

Like you said, time to re-read all articles and watch some videos just in case i might have an not-so-obvious leak someone and i will go through my hands in PT3 and analyze the hands i lost most money with just to make sure i played them correctly pre- and postflop.

Thanks once again,

Steve

In every second post I find the words upswing and downswing. Just because you drop about 3-5 stacks it's not a downswing or upswing in the other direction because poker is not all about swings. Especially as a shortstacked player you have to accept the swingness every day.

Did you posted some hands in the forum to see if you just didn't play well? If not, do it! Posting hands is one of the most important things to improve your game.

Hi ya anstaendig. Thank you for the reply.

I'm starting to understand that it was a just a loss and not a downswing. I have posted hands already on the forum and i will continue to do so, i have also gone over my hands where i lost the most money and have realized that some of that loss in the OP was down to me playing free hands (BB) postflop wrongly.

have u tried playing less tables?

hi ya hammie,

currently i am only playing 3-4 tables at once so i dont think its down to playing too many tables.
