OK, the following hand, is it decent enough to open UTG?
flop: standard cbet with top 2pair and gs
turn: better to check-call, since straight got there, bet-folding seems too tight, since I got a flushdraw and a gutshot?

Poker Stars $5.00 Pot Limit Omaha Hi - 6 players

BTN: $8.46 - VPIP: 20, PFR: 0, 3B: 0, AF: 2,0, Hands: 5
SB: $5.99 - VPIP: 19, PFR: 19, 3B: 0, AF: 0,3, Hands: 16
BB: $5.00 - VPIP: 0, PFR: 0, 3B: 0, AF: 0,0, Hands: 8
Hero (UTG): $5.73
MP: $6.64 - VPIP: 10, PFR: 10, 3B: 0, AF: 0,0, Hands: 21
CO: $7.79 - VPIP: 14, PFR: 10, 3B: 4, AF: 0,0, Hands: 70

Pre Flop: ($0.07) Hero is UTG with 9 :club: K :spade: Q :diamond: A :spade:
Hero raises to $0.17, 2 folds, BTN calls $0.17, 2 folds

Flop: ($0.41) 4 :club: Q :spade: K :diamond: (2 players)
Hero bets $0.30, BTN calls $0.30

Turn: ($1.01) J :spade: (2 players)
Hero bets $0.55, BTN raises to $1.56, Hero ???

I think opening is just fine. Of course it's not optimal to have a Ace and King same suit, but i would raise this.
C-bet is also fine, although you don't have a gutshot there. ;)

Since we have top2, i don't think villain have too many sets there, so when he calls, most likely he have a draw. Of course sometimes he could have some AAxx, but otherwise if he have some Kxxx/Qxxx it's very likely that he also have some draw with it.

On the turn you have just around 33% against straight so obviously there's no way you're folding here.
I would prefer check-calling the turn because most of the villains range just hit the straight. And if we fire out 2nd barrell, i can't see him calling with almost any worse hands. I mean if he have something like KJ without straigh, it should be some KJ98. It's possible allright, but at the same time, could we really put him on so specific hands..

Also by checking we give him a chance to bluff because our bet flop, check turn would look like quite weak. Althought i don't see too many hands to bluff here with, but there could be some chance that he were floating, or might have some K765ds or so.

As played this is easy call, and easy fold on river if we don't hit. I don't think that villain would ever raise here with anything but straight. And because of that, i don't think re-raising would do any good.

Of course since you bet only 1/2 pot it looks like you have something decent but not quite sure what to do with it, so with history there could be some chances that villain is bluff-raising but with five hands played together, i wouldn't count on it.

If we hit flush on river, i would (tank)bet quite big and try to make him believe that we're trying some desperate bluff.
If we hit straight, i could go with check-raising.
If board pairs (not flush), there could be some chance to bluff him out because with this line, our hand could easily be a set. But with five hands together, there's no guarantee that he would bite it.

And lastly, i would choose "sit out on next big blind" before the hands ends..
Goddamn nitties..

Hi,

i like your line. He has some SD's here sure, but your hand is still really strong and ahead of most of his range. He could have many worse hands that still call your bet, and i like your sizing here. Once you get raised this is a very easy call.

Pre is very standard.

PerusJamppa, thanks for the long explanation and your thoughts :)

It was zoom on Pokerstars, I didn't even notice that the table was actually full of tight players

Off course Skodljivec, also thanks for your feedback!

I would check/call T. The only draw from the F hit and we still have a lot of equity...

Only the flopped gutshot hit. It's far less likely villain having ATxx than JTxx
