60$ hyper theory spot

Hi, this is not an actual hand, however, I found a few bubble spots that are hard for me to understand. It goes like this:

SB/BB-40/80/8 antes

BTN-1400(that's us)
SB-800
BB-800

Normal ICM(using ICMizer) suggests we push:

BTN:
(46.6%)22+,A2+,K2s+,K4o+,Q2s+,Q8o+,J5s+,J9o+,T6s+,T9o,96s+,86s+,76s,65s,54s

Then, I played a bit with Holdem Resources Calculator and used the FGS tool(2 future hands to come). Range pop ups to:

BTN: 28.6%, 22+ A2s+ A9o+ A5o-A2o K2s+ KTo+ Q8s+ QTo+ J8s+ JTo T9s

It's such a huge difference! It doesn't come from their calling ranges to our push. It comes from the SB/BB dynamics. Call range for BB remains-28% in both cases(FGS and normal ICM), but SB pushes looser(78% FGS to 68% normal ICM). I think this is an interesting spot.

I paid attention, I go normal ICM range much more than would I would the FGS one, but then on a second thought, I think most regs push closer to 78% SB vs BB than the original 68%.

What's your observation and what's your default range in this spot with 2 regs?

Do you go much tighter on the BTN with 2 loose fishes to spew? I still think I go any pair, any Ax, any broadway regardless, just want to double check.

2 future hands is obv less accurate than 1 because there are SO many more variables with an extra hand. Do an analysis with just 1 FGS hand and see the difference as well (if there is any).

My default range is a bit tighter than 46% but not by much. probably 40%.

with 2 loose spewy fishes I would be much closer to the 28% you displayed above.

I also encounter this situation quite often. By default I like to shove a bit tighter than the 46.6, dropping off the worst suited connectors, 1-gapers, and maybe some of the worst offsuit K and Q.

Against 2 fish I like the range you suggested yourself. You probably have seen what kind of calls they can make, even at the 60$ level. So given the huge edge we have and our healthy stack, I think tightening up down to 25-30% depending on their degree of fishiness would be optimal.

About the FGS, I get confused by that myself a lot of the times. Sometimes you get a wider range for FGS1, then you get a tighter range for FGS2 and then for FGS again you get a wider range than FGS2. Given that there is not much information to go around (as far as I know) I try to restrict the use to this tool to the minimum, maybe for shorter stacks situations, while for the rest try to use simply common sense.

I think particularly in this situation, you should not rely even on a FGS1. You are the bigstack by far, and the next hand you are still going to be, and as you can see, in this situation we are rather looking to tighten up, rather than the opposite.
