Raiser is a maniacal reg. Although I blocked outs to top full house, it still seemed likely he may have me beat there or have a strongish draw. He literally potted the flop and the turn which led me to think either we have the same hand or he has me crushed, but the turn gave me some additional equity to rely on. The problem was that I was lost between shoving and calling. I somehow disregarded the opportunity of him having a flush draw here and potting with it. So I though I will call down to the river, let him continue his charades and bomb the river if either of the flushes hit. Was that a correct line to take? Results-wise I did not like my bluff. I did not really like my bluff cause when I reviewed this I thought why he would triple barrel and bet 60% of pot on the river unless he did it for value.

I would c-r flop especially if his maniac. If he have more sense post-flop, which means that he don't cB unless he have something decent like flushdraw + pair(s)/g-shot or something like that, and would never fold them, you can wait for a safe turn and make your actions there. After all, even against quite wide range of hands we're not that much ahead if you think that flushdraw with some extra help is very strongly in his c-betting range.

Turn card is gift from Pokergods, so i would definitely c-r there. You are pretty much crashing (well 60-40 at least) him there and could even get paid for that.

As played river is a difficult spot. You could easily have flushdraw so i would assume that he checks a lot of made hands behind. However, if he is maniac, he could try to bluff you out of your 2-pairs and stuff. But in that case the question is what else beside FD was he betting with and look for a fold here? I can only think some wrap maybe some pair (or Q9xx?) with it.

If he knows that you know that he is a maniac, you could easily be check-calling weak flushes here, so there aren't that much FE on his side.

I think that PLO25 is still a level where (without reads) i wouldn't count on blocker play, so i might just either make a crying call, or sometimes even fold.

Hi,

yeah easy flop raise. Make it small so you don't commit and he might make a lighther 3bet. At the very least c/r turn. River isn't the worst, but you have to know your opponent to pull this off. A maniac isn't the one to try this on.

Skod

Blocker bluffs refuse to work on PLO25. People just call off with 4th flushes even though i triple barrel, meh. F*** them. Most of my losses comes from bluffing.

Don't you like just check/call flop to wait for a safe turn to check/raise?

Vs that guy i like small raise to induce, because we won't be able to end to hand ott if we only check call the flop. 100bb deep i like that line much more

With bluffing, results oriented thinking usually affects our thoughts. When you make a bluff, you should realize that it doesn't work 100% of the time. You need to estimate FE, and then think about your betsizing (investment) and how it relates to the money in the pot (profit). With those three factors, you can decide if the bluff is +EV or not. So when you happen to hit your opponent's top range, you know that still you made a good decision.

There is an old saying, "if you don't ever get caught bluffing, you don't bluff enough". So you will lose money while making bluffs. But you should also win money while making bluffs. If you are not sure if your profits overcome your losses, try keeping a track of them for few sessions.

Every time you make a bluff, mark the hand (with preset markers like +bluff and -bluff). And after the session make note about the numbers and continue this for a set period of time/hands. Of course this will be hard if you multitable at the limits of your resources, so one option is to reduce the tables for a week or so.
