Pre: Is the preflop raise with AJo in this position okay?
Flop: Was it okay to Cbet?
Turn: My equity improved because of added outs to a straight. Should I have continued betting here?
As played, I checked. What would be best (call or fold) if he bet here?

Hey Brainstorm87,

Preflop raise is fine imo. Obviously not the greatest hand in this position though.

Cbet is fine. Not the greatest board texture so it helps if we no villain has a tendency to fold.

Turn is a great card to barrel. Vs unknown I would fire again.

If we check we should probably just x/f.

How do we know which cards are good for barreling and which best for x/f?
Could you please help me out with ranges here?
Thanks a ton.

It's a big topic of course but I will give you some general pointers.

Good cards to barrel

Overcard to the board
Improves our equity
Misses opponents range

Bad cards to barrel

Doesn't improve our equity
Undercard to the board
Pairs the board
Hits opponents range

One question - The turn card here (Queen) is an overcard to the board, but doesn't it hit the villain's range also? He's a somewhat tight player.

Exactly, so it's important to consider all the factors when deciding exactly how a good a barrel card is.

It can easily connect with his range, but not necessarily super hard or anything. He may fold some smaller PP's and Tx hands now.
