[Closed] Does online Poker is legal in Your state?

In the UK you don't pay taxes from your winnings from poker. It is considered as a game of skills and chance.

I'm from Czech Republic and we obviously also have to pay taxes from any income but there are a few exceptions and online poker is one of them if the site you're playing at is paying taxes in the EU.
I'm pretty sure that online poker winnings are not taxed anywhere in the EU as long as the site you're playing at is also based somewhere in the EU so you might want to recheck the tax laws in Poland. Not that it would make any difference since you're not paying any taxes anyway as you said... ♦ ♦

LuborC, So We should make a question, which companies pays taxes in europe?;) The biggest of them like Titan, PS, or FTP have HQ on another continent as fas as I know ♦.
What I know about tax and online poker in my country, I do know from polish poker sites, not my own experiences ♦ ♦. Still there is a problem, because local authority doesnt accept fact, that someone else takes money instead of them ♦. I guess it is against EU law, EU is in a supremacy to a local one, but until a case from european justice court in Luxemourg it is better for players to stay in hide

Here in sweden onlinepoker are legal and we don't have to pay taxes for the winnings as long as the site is registred in EU.

But if the site is registred outside EU like FTP or Pokerstars and some other we shall pay lotterytaxes of 30% on the winnings But things get a bit complicated here we dont have to pay taxes if the winnings are less than 100SEK (about 10€) and in cashgames it should be counted each and by itself talk about work for the goverment to go trough.

lets say were playing heads up and I bet lets say 55sek and the other person call and i win in that case i shall pay 30% of 110sek so if they really followed that there wouldn't be any winning cashgame player in sweden on sites outside EU as they would be paying more taxes than the winnings as a loss aren't deductable.

In the netherlands I believe it's not legal, but you do have to pay taxes.

Don't know about taxes, but here in Switzerland it's legal to play online poker, illegal to host an online casino, legal to host private TOURNAMENTS if its structure is reviewed by some organization and considered to make it a game of skill, which costs a minimum of 300 USD and probably takes months. Otherwise, playing any form of gambling is strictly illegal outside of a casino.

If something isn't legal it's not necessarily illegal

Have to pay tax for more than $1000 in Canada, and plus there is a bank charge of $10 for processing all checks from gambling companies.
