$1.32+$0.18

Stacks:
UTG (1,682) 6bb
CO (3,963) 13bb
BTN (2,695) 9bb
SB (2,498) 8bb
HERO (BB) (2,662) 9bb

Blinds: 150/300 Ante 25

Pre-Flop: (575, 5 players) HERO is BB A♥ 8♥
UTG goes all-in 1,657, 3 folds, HERO calls 1,357

If I fold, I still have decent FE based on stacks sizes of the table.
But, as the BB is going to hit this player next hand, I felt he could shove anything decent here. I was playing with him in other tables and he was a normal decent player. I think he probably know about losing his FE.

According to my study, this is a little +ev if the shoves more than 17%.
Dunno if that is good, since I still have FE for next spots.

I also think I called here because it was 'close' for me at the time and I thought that if I would win I'll be with very good stack to the bubble.

This is definitely a close spot. I would call here because I would have thought the same as you -- that he's going to push anything decent and next hand he would lose a lot of fold equity.

My estimated range for him if I were in the same position as you playing this hand would be something like all ace-x, k9o+,k9s+,Qjo+,QTs+, high suited connects, broadway hands, and all pocket pairs.

If we let that go then villain would gain 300+150+125= 575 chips

575+1657 (25 ante) = t2232

Your stack next hand: t2162
2337 - 150(sb) - 25 (ante)

Hi all,

I'm definitely calling here. From BB against the clear shortstack, we cannot fold such a strong hand here, even if he is quite a tight player. Nice hand, well played.
