Not happy with my line here at all.
I think I know the more optimum line, which is bet the flop for pure value (and protection against FDs), since there are plenty of weaker hands that can and will call a bet. If I would play the hand over again, I would bet around 67 cents, expecting a lot of weaker hands to call.
Although I think that going for a check-raise is also not bad, but I am not really sure if this is a good board to do that (flop may get checked through here), which I don't really want to happen. But OK, I am lucky enough that the guy behind me bets and even gets a call. At this point, I think that the caller definitely has something of the board here. But then, my check-raise is in my opinion really too small, since I want them to pay for their draws. I still have a redraw to full house too. Would 2 $ - 2.30 $ be better than 1.5 $ or would that be too big ?
When I do get called, I put them on an ace or a FD or maybe a straight draw as well (KJ). The turn is not really a card that I wanted to see. I don't expect them to fold to a bet given the action on the flop, so I decided to check the flop and see what they do. It turns out that I am getting almost 8:1 to call here. I am never folding for this price, so I call hoping that the boards pairs, but just didn't happen.
River is just an easy fold imo.
So my question here is flop play. Much better to lead instead of check/raising ? In case of the latter, like I did, what about sizing ?
