Having a bit of a downswing so thought i'd post a few hands to check that i'm not tilting. Let me know what you think.

0.25/0.5 No-Limit Hold'em (8 handed)
Hand recorder used for this poker hand: PokerStrategy Elephant 0.60 by www.pokerstrategy.com.

Preflop: Hero is BU with A♠, Q♣
3 folds, MP3 calls $0.50, CO calls $0.50, Hero raises to $3.00, 3 folds, CO calls $2.50.

Flop: ($7.25) 8♥, 5♠, 6♦ (2 players)
CO checks, Hero bets $8.50 (All-In), CO calls $8.50.

Turn: ($24.25) T♠
River: ($24.25) 4♠

Final Pot: $24.25

Results follow (highlight to see):
Hero shows high card ace with queen kicker (As Qc)
CO shows a straight, eight high (7d 5d)

CO wins with a straight, eight high (7d 5d)

standard...
think about, why you push on the flop, what else can you do on this flop and what the result will be?

Thanks for the reply.

Well, the reason I pushed on the flop was because I was following the SSS. I raised pre-flop, so I c-bet on the flop. Since a c-bet of 2/3 potsize is more than half my stack, I push.

Because of my downswing i'm trying not to play too tricky, and sticking to the SSS exactly, normally in this situation i'd think about a 1/2 PSB. With an OESD he's calling anything here, but who's going to put him on 75s? Who would call a preflop raise with that hand? Maybe A7, but even in that case I think i'm in the right to make a move here.

.

wrong

you normally make a conti bet
but when you get raised you have to call because you get the right good odds for your hand on the flop.

we always make a contbet because we have a lot of FE on the flop as preflopagressor (pfa)
we already consider to go AI on the flop, so we push to get the max FE.

Your play was right, but think about why you do which move. ;)
