1/2 Fixed-Limit Hold'em (9 handed)
Hand recorder used for this poker hand: PokerStrategy Elephant 0.60 by www.pokerstrategy.com.

Preflop: Hero is BU with K♦, 9♣
6 folds, Hero raises, 2 folds, Hero gets uncalled bet back..

Seemed like a good place to steal to me. If he had fought back I would have given up quick.
Final Pot: 1.25 BB

Results follow (highlight to see):
Hero shows high card king with nine kicker (Kd 9c)

Hero wins with high card king with nine kicker (Kd 9c)

It depends on the blinds, against tight blinds you can raise like K5o+ from the button, against loose blinds you should become tighter and raise something like K9o+ from the button. My SHC says K7o+.

mine too ;)

K9o is the lowest offsuit K against some LAG blinds (mostly if both blinds are LAG) for me, but it should be open-raised form button 100% of the time against everyone! Remember: blinds have random hands all the time ;)
If BB is very tight (60% fold to steal raise) and SB is not maniac, I tend to raise any 2 until they realize it and start to fight back..

I figured since I had been playing so tight at the table for awhile that any raise would scare them off. If I remember right now they were both pretty tight for most of the session.

hi tiltedgringo
i agree with the other guys. easy open raise. K9o is just way to strong against two random hands especially with position postflop :)
the shc says K7o+ and i think i would raise this against almost anybody in the blinds
