Hero (UTG): 109.5 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has J♣ J♠

Hero raises to 4 BB, fold, MP calls 4 BB, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold

Flop: (9.5 BB, 2 players) 6♥ 2♣ 4♣
Hero checks, MP bets 5 BB, Hero raises to 15 BB, MP calls 10 BB

Turn: (39.5 BB, 2 players) 4♦
Hero bets 19 BB, MP calls 19 BB

River: (77.5 BB, 2 players) 9♣
Hero bets 13 BB,

Spoiler

fold

Hero wins 75 BB

-3bet on the flop for overpair & handprotection for draw.
-semivalue bet on the turn (semi=also barrel because of possible scarecard)
- I'm doubting my actions on the river, because i could have presented a flush (including barreling) but i'm not sure. Also i think that my betsizing is a bit wierd.

What do you think?

Hello,

Is there a reason to be check/raising the flop and not cbetting here? I prefer cbetting.

Bet bigger on turn - like 28bb.

As played, on this river I would check/fold.

Best,
Plamen

If id cbet this flop i have less information, therefore i checked. I don't like cbetting OOP against this type of player. Why do you think that this is better?

I think i agree on this one.

Basically cbetting is better because of the following reasons:
- we keep the initiative which is always better
- we have a strong overpair which is a good value hand. I would recommend you to try to put him on a range postflop and see how much equity do you have
- even if he folds we still win the pot which is nice

By checking we give him the opportunity to take a free card and take the initiative, also check/raising will look much stronger than just cbetting.

I wouldn't mind paying attention to his AF for just 20 hands.

Also, please press the "Advice the judge to have a second look" button, so you can make sure that I see you are having additional questions to the hand and answer them as quickly as possible.
