Spoiler

$4.67 pot ($0.19 rake)
Final Board: K 4 7 7 4
Hero mucked K Q and lost (-$2.31 net)
CO mucked and won $4.48 ($2.17 net)

Villain is unknown.

I don't like calling from the Sb readless so I choose to bluff as part of an overall strategy with hands such as AQ AJ KQ in this spot.

I think this is ok, but are there any other options here?, playing OOP in a 3 bet pot with top pair good kicker feels tricky sometimes.

Hey ChangNoi77,

Preflop squeeze is fine. Generally makes more sense to put in our flatting range although 3betting is +EV.

Flop cbet for value is fine.

Turn barrel is thin, might be a good spot to reduce sizing and play bet/fold.

River x/f is fine.

I've found that I used to leak from the SB calling unsuited broadway hands. Should I expect with ideal play to make more from this hand calling than I would by 3 betting as a bluff and for value vs some players?

EV of 3betting in isolation is likely higher than flatting, so it's a perfectly fine option.

In higher level games we want to avoid allowing our flatting range to become super weak so we need some of these big card hands. Stuff like KQ dominates a CO open range but doesn't necessarily dominate the range CO continues to a 3bet with. As a result it also doesn't that great in a 3bet pot and we will be put in tougher decisions in general when we are called.

If you think a 3 bet bluff is more profitable OOP than a call, what about IP?

Some plays are higher EV in isolation but don't necessarily make the most sense for our entire range. I.e 3betting is just inherently more profitable than flatting. But if we were to just 3bet most of the hands we play then holes start appearing in our strategy especially if we are playing against guys that are remotely decent.

Generally speaking offsuit broadways make better 3bet bluffs IP and better flats OOP (if they are strong enough).
