BB: $10 (100 bb)
UTG: $8.30 (83 bb)
MP: $7.58 (75.8 bb)
CO: $10 (100 bb)
Hero (BTN): $15.27 (152.7 bb)
SB: $7.77 (77.7 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with 3 A
UTG folds, MP calls $0.10, CO folds, Hero calls $0.10, SB completes, BB checks

Flop: ($0.40) J 9 A (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, MP checks, Hero bets $0.25, SB calls $0.25, 2 folds

Turn: ($0.90) 5 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks

River: ($0.90) J (2 players)
SB bets $0.65, Hero raises to $2, SB folds

Results:

Spoiler

$2.20 pot ($0.10 rake)
Final Board: J 9 A 5 J
Hero mucked 3 A and won $2.10 ($1.10 net)
SB mucked and lost (-$1 net)

Should I have just called the river and picked off random bluffs/busted flushes?
The way I played, I expected to get him off any TP hands, as the river jack looks to have hit my range well after checking back on the turn. So only trip jacks (and sets I suppose) call/raise here?

Hi Pilks7

PReflop: just fold this preflop or isolate the MP if you want to play it.

Limping behind such a weak hand is far from great.

Postflop: SB looks fishy so I doubt a fish will bet/fold anything better. If he folds something it's a worse hand so I don't like your bluff.

I also prefer betting the turn for value/protection vs draws and checking river back.
