I just started reading Xarry's coachings thread and studied the first topic with the big draws play....

first hand of the day...
came right out of there....

wasn't too sure how to play it according to what i've read

so here it is....

iPoker No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (10 handed) - iPoker Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

Button ($47)
SB ($9.50)
Hero (BB) ($10)
UTG ($16.81)
UTG+1 ($10.75)
UTG+2 ($15.10)
MP1 ($10)
MP2 ($23.54)
MP3 ($23)
CO ($52.94)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 10, 7
6 folds, CO calls $0.50, 1 fold, SB calls $0.25, Hero checks

Flop: ($1.50) 9, K, 8 (3 players)
SB bets $1.50, Hero calls $1.50, CO calls $1.50

Turn: ($6) 3 (3 players)
SB bets $2, Hero calls $2, CO raises $7, SB calls $5, Hero folds

River: ($22) 3 (2 players)
SB checks, CO bets $0.50, SB calls $0.50 (All-In)

Total pot: $23 | Rake: $1.15

I just checkd the 2 callers preflop

on the flop....
i see 2 cards giving me 8 outs for a straight draw,
so i base myself on that... just like the coaching article said

SB bets 1.50 on flop....i call ...
counting in that the other player is pretty loose calling
and i should also get enough implied odds to justify my call (4.9:1 needed)

on the turn.... same scenario ....
bets 2... i think i can still call this.... but the raise of the CO is too much...
giving me too bad odds.....
pushing all-in also gives me too few odds (4:1)

was this ok for the draw playing or should i do it differently??

on the flop i fold because

a) you dont get the correct odds with implieds
b) the player behind you might raise

turn is verrrry close, i think both folding and calling the raise is fine

ok... i screwed up this one....
i was too busy thinking of all i read, but forgot the most important thing lol...

what am i drawing too???

it's not even a big draw to start with...
I should deduct outs cos a beter straight can be on the board also in some cases when i complete mine....

so....
i should have handled it differently
i ca only give myself 3 clean outs.... 6c 6h 6d
6s opens flush possibility, and every J can get me beaten by a higher straight,
if someone holds TQ ....

so bad play,
should have folded....

was to eager to start counting instead of using whole of my brain

you dont have to discount THAT much

discounted 1 out is totally enough, how the hell should he have QT here :)

its not "how many outs are definitely live" but "how many outs are live on average"
