Hero posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB, MP+1 posts penalty blind 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 2.5 BB) Hero has T♥ T♦

fold, fold, fold, MP+1 raises to 2 BB, fold, fold, Hero raises to 6 BB, BB calls 5 BB, MP+1 calls 4 BB

Flop: (18 BB, 3 players) 3♥ 5♥ 4♦
Hero checks, BB checks, MP+1 bets 1 BB, Hero raises to 15 BB, fold, MP+1 calls 14 BB

Turn: (48 BB, 2 players) 9♣
Hero bets 34.5 BB, MP+1 calls 9 BB and is all-in

River: (66 BB, 2 players) 5♣

Idecided to play in pot control, but when he min bet, it shows me a weak hand, and since he had a short stack I decided to reraise to make the pression.
And since I probably had the best hand, I reraised him also in purpose to call all his stack.

I like the play he can have lots of worse hands in his range that still will call cause he got such a shallow stack.

It makes sense to 3b as we can't really setmine propably.

In 3b pots overpairs is really strong.

Hey Jadocky,

Preflop 3bet is ok vs a min open.

We can't really be pot controlling on these dangerous textures. The more dangerous the texture is, the more often we should bet to protect our made hand.

Flop cbet is generally good here. Something like 10bb is fine.

Flop raise vs min-bet is fine. I would definitely bet turn also here. Sizing doesn't need to be quite this large.

Hi,
Ty Saren for participating.

Hey w34z3l, I'm not sure about the cbet in this spot.

You say to cbet about 10bb for protection , almost half pot to protect. I found that quite thin for a protection bet on a scary board.
Since he has the position, he can call with any draw like AhXh/9h8h..., PP like 66-77, with overcards.... And since he seems maniac even with any 2 cards?
The problem is that a lot of cards can be scary for us in the turn. And often we'll have to fold our hand.

I really prefer the pot control here. If you don't agree, well you have to convince me more about the cbet.

Ty

Hey Jadocky,

I think maybe in another one of your posts also you refer to protection bet being thin "because the board is drawy". But drawy boards are the very boards where we need to bet for protection. Drawy textures are the most harmful boards to let our opponents see free turn and river cards.

Yes, there will be tough turns if we bet. But there will also be tough turns if we check. Checking doesn't really change that much aside from the fact that we let our opponents see a free turn way more frequently. We very likely have the best hand on the flop so we don't want to give 2 guys a free shot at sucking out. If you feel it's thin, then simply reduce bet sizing.

The spot isn't exactly the same. The board is more connected, more dangerous than the other one. And there are more "binding" cards. The situation isn't really the same.

The question isn't to give or not a free card to the opponent. The question is: if the opponent is gonna call 100% of the time in this spot, why put my self in danger with a good hand and increasing the pot size, making it harder for me?
Plus he's a short stack, I have no FE here.

I'm not convinced here. Maybe if u can call another analyst who can join the conversation.
Not that you are not good. It just I like when I have different opinions =).

Hi Jadocky

I'll add my 2 cents here.

We can't pot control when villain has a short stack and has 3 streets to put the money in.

The pot is already 18 BB with just 24 BB behind. So how can we really pot control?

So what we do is actually bet the flop for value and protection. If a bad turn card comes down he has such a small amount behind that a lot of worse can get it in.

And with two fish in the pot it's a mistake to not want to get value there (and protect) imo. IF you know either are aggro and you can check/raise for value then sure go ahead.
