Hello there,

I have this question down here. I find myself in NL2 6max zoom table in BIG blind with small pair (22-88). One player raises (lets say position is irrelevant). How shall I respond to his 3xBB raise. Is calling profitable? Ty for replies.

Position isn't irrelevant.

Hi,

If villain is 100bb deep you could call from any position. They will often give you quite a lot value when you hit IMO.

I made some basic calculations. If you hit set once in 7.5 times, then you will spend 4x7.5=30 untill you hit. And then you should get that 0.30 back. Otherwise its not profitable. But like CPallo said if hes 100bb deep I think most of the times you will get that much by the time the river comes..

Against a 3bb open-raise he spends less and sometimes hero can bluff the pot or hit str8 or stuff, so it's not that simple.. Anyway, people are more likely to overplay their overpairs and call with flushdraws against big bets, so playing pp's should become profitable.
