KJs tough spot on turn with fl $ str draw

I think if you're going to float the flop with a gutshot, it's bad to fold when you get extra outs. Just because the board pairs doesn't mean your draw is no good.

Preflop: looks fine

Postflop: The turn card could also be bad because he barrels big on a pretty blank card so folding isn't that bad. However why call the flop with a gutshot/backdoor vs unknown? What was the plan?

IP it's fine but OOP you'll have a harder time.

The gutshot on the flop was not the decisive factor why I called the cbet, it was just "+" to making this decision because I gave him wide range stealing from bu and for making cbet. The gutshot just provided me additional 4 outs and of course there was a bd flash draw as well.

I think that if he cbet bluffed on the flop that he would shut down on the turn and I`d be able to take the pot down on the river most of the times, and if i hit additional outs then win more $$ in some cases.

But instead he 2nd barreled close to pot on a turn card that paired the board. I think he would almost never bluff here. Yes and I guess thats why the fold here was right.

is this line of play wrong when defending bb?

The flop is quite connected so while he can bluff a lot it's hard for us to continue. However, if you expect a lot of cbets and turn giveups then yes we can play it like this.

And your thoughts on the turn are correct.

would this be a good spot for a check/raise on the flop? We can def. have some sets and as you say his range may well have some bluffs that we can fold out. Although given that we beat all his bluffs except KQ we can't really call flop as we have to fold to further action unimproved. Plus as we have backdoors we can continue the aggression on the turn with a spade or queen (maybe we chk back a K or J as this would give us showdown value)

I would plan to cbet/fold this board if I was in btn's position with a fair number of hands.

I've only recently started on NL10 and pretty much got thru NL2&4 without any bluff raising at all, but am thinking of good spots to implement it.

Flop c/c is standard, arguments could be made for check-raising but given the starting positions, BB cannot have AA/TT, and maybe even 88 (depending on how aggressive your 3b strategy is). This highly weights your checkraise range towards straight draws which could be a bad thing vs a stronger opponent.

Certainly this is microstakes so you could argue that the opponent wouldn't be thinking at such a high level which is true, but still we should try to get our fundamentals right.
