Hero?

In general the play has been pretty loose. I don’t have any good reads on BTN at this stage of the night, other than that he’s young, thinks he’s a lot better than he actually is, talks a lot of crap and berates his opponents when they beat him or win with a play he doesn’t agree with, LAG style, no history with me.

I’m the tightest at the table, not playing many hands preflop and haven’t really been involved in a significant hand yet. None of the players know me as I’ve never played there before. Most of the players seem to be regulars.

i would b/f ott.

dunno if i would donk flop 5handed. ure hand is very vulnerable and u could have a hard time ott if u get called by some villians

as played i would call him otr.

2 reasons: he reps a str8 ott and fire the paired river also.
also his betsize ott. if he has a str8 he would protect more. Dont know if he would fire a set ott. seemed like more of a fd.

worst case is a nfd like AdTdJh5h or so..if he has a str8 draw + nfd and 2pair ott then his line makes sense. depends on if u have any reads how he playes make hands or draws

So what's the best play on the flop? Bet/call, bet/fold, bet/raise, check/call, check/raise? Is there even a clear best play/s on the flop or are they all pretty close?

Is turn definitely a bet/fold? Even against a LAG?

bet/raise, check raise is definitly overplayed here 5way.

i would go for an c/c tbh. i really dont like to get raised here if i bet.

and if villian bets..someone raises etc, we could think about an fold tbh (jmy2c) there a drillions Turns u dont like every :diamond:, J,T,Q and 8,9,5 its really hard to come to the river.

it could be that u are even not a favorite if it goes like bet/call raise reraise etc. if someone has like a wrap with a fd u are behind as i remember without looking in propokertools

Here are some thoughts I had at the time and after the hand.

So what beats me on the river?

Flopped set - would he bet this on the turn? He definitely doesn't bet it 100% of the time, so you have to discount this possibility, but it's tough to know how often he bets a set on the turn. Maybe he raises the flop sometimes too so you might discount this holding even further. And if he flopped a set, is he betting $300 on the river? And how confident can he be with 555TT or 888TT considering I might have a better boat and have gone for a check/raise since he's aggressive and will likely bluff the missed flush draw.

QJTx or JT7x type hands - would he bet $300 with a straight on the river? Probably not.

T with 8/9/5 - if I'm beat, this is his most likely holding IMO. The other 2 don't make nearly as much sense as this one.

So what do I beat?

Busted flush draws
Flopped 2pr turned into bluff
T7 turned into bluff

How's my thought process on the river?

What about the preflop call UTG?

Even when you flop the nuts, as seen in this spot, you are doing really worse against 4 others. There are 14 save turns which you can continue safely and after that we have to dodge the river also.

You never played with them before, no good history or what so ever and they know that you are tight.

Think this hand plays much better IP like late or BTN position vs a raiser.

As played, bet/fold turn.
