There are some tools and services which have legitimate uses for analysing your game, but which are not appropriate for use during play. For example, ICM (Independent Chip Model) and Nash Equilibrium tools may be used for post-game analysis and for studying hands which you have previously played. However, you may not use such a tool while the PokerStars software is open.

Some examples of tools and services which are prohibited only while PokerStars is running are:

Insight Poker Hound
PokerStrategy Elephant
PokerStrategy ICM Trainer
SAGE Decision Calculator
Sit n’ Go End Game Tools
SitnGo Wizard
SNG Power Tools
Spade ICM
STT Analyzer by PokerSoftwareTools

imo i don't know how PT is legal and elephant isn't since they're suposed to do the same things.

of course i don't want PT banned, but banning elephant .... i don't get it at all.

by the way, how can they ban software at all times? how can they know what software do we use with stars closed?

and, its on the list of phoribited software because it "displays nash smthn and ICM", but it doesnt... i think admins should talk to Pokerstars...

can someone tell me what Nash Equilibrium tools are?

Also i thought icm is just a training tool. What does it have to do with live game play.

because it "tells" you what the correct move is, i don't think you could use it because while you set up the game you time out ♦

So is this still an issue? Are you liable to get banned using elephant on Pokerstars? Really don't want fork out money for a poker tracker licence.

Nope, not any more. If you open up the link above you will find it amongst the allowed software..
