SB: $21 VPIP: 27/22 3B: 0 Hands: 71
BB: $21 27/18 0 28
UTG: $28 100/0 0 1
MP
CO: $25 14/11 3 1113
HERO: $25 19/14

PF:
HERO dealt 3 :heart:3 :club:
UTG raises to $.50, CO folds, Hero calls, SB calls and BB calls

Flop: 5 :heart:3 :diamond:5 :diamond:
SB checks, BB bets $.99, UTG calls, Hero Calls and SB calls

Turn: J :spade:
SB checks, BB checks, UTG bets $1.25, Hero calls, SB calls and BB calls

River: 4
SB Checks, BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets $5.25, SB raises to $11, BB folds, UTG folds...

My thoughts...

Call the flop to set mine with cheap 2BB entry and position

Only call the flop as wanted to entice action on the turn and let flush/straight draws hit and pay me

The shift in lead betting on the turn threw me off and thus I feel I missed a raise, I still felt I had the best hand and don't hate the call as I'm still hoping a rogue 5 pays me on the river and flush/straight draws can hit and pay me

When raised on the river, I fear 54 and possibly 44...is this a call or fold spot?? My tendency is to be tentative with this limit as c/r typically means strength and not bluffing, especially on the river...but I'm not sure what I would beat here...I feel I played with fire too long...thoughts??

Cheers,
TC

Hi,

pre flop looks fine

Flop I tend to raise for several reasons:

1- We loose action from 5x if draw hits turn.

2- A good draw might call anyways, specially if villain is bad

3- We will not have the nuts on a lot of turn, specially turn A/K/4/6. It's very diferent than having 55 on 335 board since we will still have the better full house even villain improves.

As played again I would raise turn, same reasons.

River I don't think we can shove it in, but we can't fold given the odds, he should have enough trips/straights in his range.
