Hi guys !

here is a hand from the french community that i've spoken with an other coach (and fiend) and we are kind of disagree with the line we should take...

Winamax - €4.50+€0.50|8000/16000 NL (9 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

SB: 45.94 BB (VPIP: 42, PFR: 11, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 111)
Hero (BB): 49.6 BB
UTG: 6.9 BB (VPIP: 18.18, PFR: 15.63, 3Bet Preflop: 13.04, Hands: 67)
MP: 14.72 BB (VPIP: 23.40, PFR: 9.09, 3Bet Preflop: 8.33, Hands: 48)
CO: 16.09 BB (VPIP: 33.33, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 6)
BTN: 20.56 BB (VPIP: 28.33, PFR: 5.26, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 61)

6 players post ante of 0.13 BB, SB posts SB 0.5 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 2.25 BB) Hero has 5♥ 5♣

UTG raises to 6.77 BB and is all-in, fold, fold, fold, SB calls 6.27 BB, Hero ???

Here SB is a looze passif player.

My idea is that 55 has a too good equity to be fold but on the other hand a poor playability. So I'd prefer to raise here to isolate the short stack. Raise sth like 16bb would be enough to make him fold at least 50% of his range IMO.

For my friend, the issue is that the flat from a looze-passif won't give me enough FE and I'll risk to play a huge pot. He'd prefer flat IP and play accordingly to the flop.

Which game plan for you ? And why ?

Hey!

I think both lines have some side effects

huge pot + risk he calls too often vs bad playability!

Imo call is bad -> we wont get to the river often enough and be good with 55s against 2 players…

so raise is imo the better option!

ok but if u raise what is your sizing ?
do you call a NYBR from the SB ?
The issue is that a raise greater than 16bb will comit you against a range larger than 99+, AK. If he has some trap in his range this could be awkward.
Would do take an EV- fold w/ 30bb left ?

Hi all,

Let's consider a couple things:

-> If we successfully isolate, our equity doesn't actually increase that dramatically. It's certainly an improvement but if we assume we rarely get bluffed out postflop it's not that major IMO.

-> He has some amount of traps that we get it in horribly against.

-> It's deep on winamax.fr, our edge is huge.

I would flat call.
