Hi fellow poker strategists and thanks for clicking on this 'blog'. I'm new to poker and this blog is to document my learning and hopefully improvement in this mad game we all <3 so much!
A little bit about me.
My name is Scott and i'm a 21 year old from Scotland who feels as if he will be stuck in dead end min wage jobs for eternity! I'm the type of person who jumps from hobby to hobby but hopefully this one will be one that sticks 
Poker Background
I was first introduced to poker when I was about 12 when I would go visit my dad and sit for hours watching cards on TV thinking "what is this utter sh*t i'm watching". Ohhh how wrong I was! After talking to dad while watching it a few times I began to pick up the very basics. By that I mean card rankings. I didn't even know the rules. That didn't stop me persuading my mates to start playing poker when it was to wet outside to kick a ball around. Those games were so much fun and we would play with pennies and the games were so messed up. We didn't know the rules so there was no blinds and we all thought that a betting round was 2 times round the table and even after a bet we were aloud to check! Eventually we all started playing on "bebo" for free and started to pick up the rules properly which improved our occasional games no end. These games lasted a few months then Call Of Duty came along and poker was just a memory!
Everytime I went to visit dad i would sit and watch him play on FTP and he would talk me trough what he was doing and when i was 16 i got (rather stole) my first shot at playing a real game for real cash!
It was around 2am and I had woke up and went downstairs. Dad was in bed and i took a look at the pc and thought - it can't be to hard surely. I turned it on loaded up FTP and managed to guess dads password on the 2nd try lol. I registered for a MTT and was playing for a good 2 hours before i busted. Still remember that hand. All-in pre with KK and i got beat by 9/10o. I loved it (although dad went mad the next day when he realized i had played) and everytime i went to dads we would sit and play HU or i would watch him play online.
Wow if anyone did decide to read this they have left by now. Oh well, the story continues...
When i turned 18 dad took me to the casino and we played some poker. It's scary how nervous i was that night but i managed to finish 5th out of around 40 and got a nice little £320 for my £50. From then the only time i played poker was in the casino when visiting dad and would play the very occasional MTT online. Life took over since then, i got a job and a girlfriend and poker was all but forgotten although i would still with it on TV from time to time.
I want this game in my life!
13 of June 2014 - my 21st birthday. I get a phone call from dad and he lets me know that for my 21st we are off to Vegas! The excitement was unreal! Anyway we went to Vegas on July 4th, what a night that was, gambling, fireworks and celebrations! We played the poker tournament every night in the stratosphere where we were staying and i played terribly although i did bubble one night! We took a walk down to Rio on one of the days and walking into that room, hearing nothing except the sound of chips being clinked through fingers and looking around while the ME of WSOP was being played reminded me what poker was all about. People from all walks of life, fighting it out for $10 million. We walked around the rail and i was stood less than 6ft away from Phil Ivey, although im not particularly a fan of his it still made me feel slightly starstruck.
After getting home i downloaded Stars made an account stuck £20 in and played a few MTT's, didn't cash once but i had fun. I went to google and stumbled along this little gem! Some of the blogs i've read on here are so good. Hopefully, being on here i will be able to learn alot from others and become a part of this community :).
This post is already to long so for now i shall just stop! I will post what i want to acheive from poker and what i am going to do to improve my game which at the moment is utterly disgraceful. Here i leave a graph of my first NL2 session to show you just how terrible i am.

Oh well will just stick to bronze for now and consider buying status at a later date. Although 888 is an option. I believe the have a pretty decent android app to play on also. I just love Stars for some reason.
