PokerStars - $0.25 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (BTN): $25.00
SB: $33.56
BB: $25.00
UTG: $41.39
MP: $31.21
CO: $26.46

SB posts SB $0.10, BB posts BB $0.25

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.35) Hero has 8♥ T♥

fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.50, fold, BB raises to $2.25, Hero calls $1.75

Flop: ($4.60, 2 players) 7♥ 4♥ 6♠
BB bets $4.39, Hero calls $4.39

Turn: ($13.38, 2 players) T♠
BB bets $18.36 and is all-in, fold

Maybe kind of a loose call preflop against an unknown player. Villain pots flop. His range mostly contains strong over pairs, just a few flushes, nut flush draws and maybe some two pairs.

OTT I need 37%.

Board: 7♥4♥6♠ T♠
       Equity     Win     Tie
CO     49.36%  48.73%   0.64% { Th8h }
BB     50.64%  50.00%   0.64% { AdAh, AdAs, AhAs, AdAc, AhAc, KdKh, KdKc, KhKc, QdQh, QdQc, QhQc, 85s, 74s, 64s, AhKh, AhQh, AhJh, AhTh, Ah8h, Ah7h, Ah5h, Ah4h, Ah3h, Ah2h }

Like you can see I do pretty well against that range. I clearly didn't expect that! I thought I've got much less because of higher FDs, just one more card to come and the bigger invest cause he is overpushing. I'm kinda surprised.

So easy call T, call R? Or are there any other options?

Hi SgtJackColt

Preflop: aren't we defending too wide if we call hands like this vs what appears to be an unknown?

Postflop: As played you have to call AI on the turn so there's no call river left.

And given you have TP + gutshot + FD I really can't see how you can fold.

Afterall why call hands like this preflop if you fold the nut draw? And not to mentioon that we are ahead of all his draws and I can see quite a few in his range.

I kinda misinterpreted that spot. While playing I (and I think most of the other players too) don't do the exact math. Its more kind of a pattern recognition. I thought my EQ would be much lower. So I'm glad I learned something.

Thanks for this and your other posts!
