I wonder if an expert could tell me how I should have played this hand. I don't think I played it very well.
Blinds 150/300, ante 25, full ring
My stack 34k, Villain's stack 40k (new to table)
I'm dealt AQo and open 900 from middle, button calls.
Flop AKJ rainbow. I bet 1000, villain flats.
Turn K (no flush draws). I bet 2000, villain flats.
River 6. I check, villain bets 5k into 8050 pot, I fold.

Hi,

I don´t like that much your turn bet. You can always bet river against Ax hands and rather I would go to pot control (you can also slowplay all your boats), also by betting turn you just build bigger pot against stronger hands and don´t really know what to do against big bet on the river.
River fold seems fine, since live players would tend to be more honest and Ax hands should check back turn+QJ hands might fold turn or check back river.
Against thinking players it should also work c/r river, since you can represent AA/KK/AK where they would most likely have KQ or maybe JJ/QT in their range

best regards,
